While unlabelled, the proportions, stance and construction follow the well known Paulin design by Artifort.

The red chenille type fabric is in good condition. There are some signs of use, mainly to the edged areas, and a small frayed area to the edge of one side. Some variation to the rolled top edges, all visible in the photographs. Some marks are also present to the underside but these are not on show. The chrome plating is also in good condition, showing some light wear, each foot pad shows pitting, one illustrated.

The chairs are lovely and wide, and sit in a comfortable, laid back position. The internal structure is sound throughout, with firm inners over laminated ply shells.

A striking, sculptural pair that captures the playful Modernism of Paulin designs.
