Its generous proportions, three drawers, and warm, honeyed patina make it a piece of character, equally at home in a wabi-sabi bedroom or a chic country interior.

materials: structure and drawer fronts entirely in solid pine, with a natural golden patina acquired over decades. Original turned wooden knob handles. Antique metal mortise locks retained in place (no key).

features: this victorian chest of drawers features three drawers. Its straight bracket feet, turned wooden knob handles, and visible mortise locks are typical of rustic victorian english joinery. The small (original) turned column mirror on top is a matching period accessory (a dressing mirror); it tilts. The construction is robust, with no veneer: solid pine throughout. The piece exudes that sought-after wabi-sabi quality—imperfect, authentic, and full of life.

refurbishment: the english chest of drawers was very lightly sanded to remove the most stubborn stains and clean it without removing its patina and the marks of time that give it its unique charm. It was also carefully cleaned and then protected with a colorless wax.
