These beautiful bookends were made in the finest craftsmanship. The wood art tradition from Thuringia has a long history, this many beautiful and unique works of art have sprung. Already in 1780 the carving was detectable as a trade in. Today's local coat of arms cited this craft with a horse as a motive. Around 1790 a very close cooperation with Ruhlaer entrepreneurs who dealt with the manufacture of smoking pipes originated. First you only handcrafted bowls supplied to order; later the carving of whip sticks, baking and butter models and crib figures was added. The carving is now developed to the decorative arts.
