This elegant oval cabinet dish was produced during one of the most successful periods in the factory's history and reflects the revival of its finest eighteenth-century decorative traditions.

The rich cobalt Blue Scale ground is complemented by rococo gilding and finely painted reserves depicting exotic birds, butterflies and insects. The underside bears the Royal Worcester mark dated by the factory point system together with pattern number 2525.

The quality of the decoration recalls the work of leading Worcester artists such as George Johnson, renowned for his fancy birds painted on the Blue Scale ground.

A highly decorative and collectible example of Royal Worcester Blue Scale production, combining historical inspiration, exceptional craftsmanship and rich gilding. Authentic early twentieth-century examples of this pattern represent some of the finest Edwardian bone china produced by Royal Worcester and remain greatly admired by collectors today.
