The foundation of the piece is a 19th-century Italian processional staff, formerly adapted as a torchere lamp, featuring a crimson velvet-wrapped shaft embellished with silvered praying angels, gilt cherub masks, and finely cast Baroque-inspired ornamentation. The original electrical components have been removed, allowing the object to be appreciated once again as a sculptural work rather than a lighting fixture.

Surmounting the staff is an 18th-century Austrian processional finial crafted in silvered brass. The finial features a radiating Baroque sunburst centered around an openwork IHS Christogram, surmounted by a cross and positioned above a Sacred Heart motif, all hallmarks of Catholic devotional symbolism. The combination creates a visually cohesive and historically evocative object that appears as though it could have originated from a European church treasury.
