Vintage Perko Galvanized Steel USS Missouri Battleship Anchor Lights – Clear Lens – Circa 1940
This authentic Perko galvanized steel anchor lantern with copper top ring caps was salvaged from the USS Missouri (BB-63). Made by Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp. in Brooklyn, NY, it is the desirable large ship’s anchor lantern featuring 360° clear Fresnel lenses. The lantern retains the original “Perko” maker’s mark etched on the inside of the clear glass lens (It has the front Perko tag on the outside galvanized steel). Condition Notes :
The lantern shows beautiful original patina and it is consistent with wear for their age and naval use (minor dents, paint loss, and surface wear are normal).
original clear glass Fresnel lenses with no cracks only has a small chip on the inside of the lens at the top seam area. It is not noticeable when the lantern is assembled and viewed normally — you only see it if you take the lantern apart and look closely.
The lantern is spectacular with gorgeous patina, functional, and impressive display pieces with great historical provenance. It makes a striking statement.
