Large signed studio art pottery bowl executed in high-fired stoneware with hand-applied sculptural lizards in relief. The bowl features an organic freeform rim and a flowing blue-gray glaze with black and cobalt accents, creating a dynamic surface characteristic of contemporary studio ceramics.
Measuring 12.25 inches in diameter, the piece functions as both a decorative centerpiece and an example of handmade art pottery. The sculpted lizard motifs evoke Southwestern artistic traditions and are integrated into the vessel form, demonstrating a strong sculptural approach combined with functional design.
Produced most likely between the 1980s and 2000s, the bowl represents the aesthetic of independent studio pottery where craftsmanship and visual impact take precedence over maker recognition.
