Chair model c - also known as "canadian"
this pair of armchairs is a true icon of interwar interior design and one of the most sought-after models of the art deco style from the 1930s. This is the legendary model c, colloquially known in czechoslovakia as "kanadka" (the canadian), designed by the celebrated architect jindřich halabala. The chairs were manufactured in czechoslovakia by the renowned up závody factories, a company that spearheaded modern and timeless furniture production during the interwar era.
this particular pair has been preserved in an extraordinary, original, and very well-kept condition, which significantly elevates its historical and collector value. The signature dynamically curved armrests and angled legs are crafted from solid beech wood. As part of a sensitive restoration, the original wood polish was carefully revived, bringing back its rich dark tone and deep luster while fully preserving the authentic, decades-old vintage patina.
the armchairs feature their original, well-preserved upholstery. The light-colored fabric with its subtle texture has been professionally cleaned, removing years of dust while refreshing its appearance for immediate use. Thanks to the ergonomic tilt of the backrest and deep seating, the "kanadka" model offers unparalleled lounging comfort. This authentic and beautifully maintained pair represents a premier investment opportunity for avant-garde design enthusiasts and will serve as a noble centerpiece in any sophisticated living room or study.
