Formed in crystal-clear glass with a striking opaque blue centre, the design combines sculptural simplicity with the optical depth characteristic of high-quality Murano production. Circular in form with a broad shallow profile, the bowl embodies the restrained modernism that emerged from Murano glassmaking during the latter half of the twentieth century. Rather than relying on elaborate decoration, the design focuses on the purity of its silhouette and the visual relationship between colour, transparency and light. Executed in thick clear glass, the opaque blue core appears suspended within the transparent body, creating a compelling interplay of colour, reflection and depth. The bowl's minimalist aesthetic differs from the more ornate decorative styles often associated with Murano glass of the period, instead emphasising form and material. Although unsigned, the piece displays stylistic and technical characteristics consistent with examples produced by La Murrina during the 1970s and recalls contemporary work associated with designers such as Lino Tagliapietra and Gianmaria Potenza. Condition is very good for its age and use. Minor surface wear and small exterior irregularities are present, some of which may be attributable to the manufacturing process. The bowl remains in excellent decorative condition. Dimensions: Height: 5 cm (1.97 in) Diameter: 17 cm (6.69 in) See less
