Offered is a set of 3 white swirl on black art glass plates hand-made for LEONARDO / glaskoch in Italy in the 1970s. They're perfectly food safe, but oh so chic and should be displayed when not in use. Each swirl pattern is slightly different due to their hand crafted nature, and 2 of the plates have white swirls near the rims on the under surface.
They measure 6.875" diameter, 1.125" tall
Leonardo is known across Europe as an independent design brand, producing high-end glassware, tableware, and jewelry. The parent company, glaskoch, was founded in 1859 by Benedikt Koch. The Leonardo brand itself was launched in 1972 by Franz Josef Kleine. The company remains a family business, currently run in the 5th generation by Oliver and Bianca Kleine. They famously operate the Leonardo Glass Cube, a permanent, award-winning architectural brand and exhibition center.
