Bring timeless American craftsmanship and rich, organic texture to your next design project. This striking turn-of-the-century (circa 1895-1910) tallboy chest of drawers is crafted from premium American quarter-sawn tiger oak, boasting a dramatic, highly figured wood grain that instantly anchors a room. Featuring a beautiful serpentine facade on the upper tier, this piece seamlessly blends historic character with practical, everyday (farmhouse-style) storage.
The Design Details
Construction: Six spacious drawers with elegant, classic wood knobs and original brass keyholes.
Craftsmanship: Exceptional antique joinery featuring robust, clean dovetail construction on the drawers.
Mobility: Sits on its original, smooth-rolling metal and wood casters, making it easy to position.
Versatility: A perfect statement piece for a modern rustic bedroom, a handsome entry hall, or used as unexpected storage in an upscale dining space.
Condition Notes
This piece is in very good antique condition with a beautifully preserved, warm honey-oak finish. It shows minor, localized surface scratches consistent with its age and light, gentle use. Structurally sound from the front and sides. Consistent with its century-long history, the back panel shows a bit of typical veneer separation, and the lowest rear cross-support has a hairline split at a natural wood knot; this is entirely confined to the back, does not affect the stability or weight-bearing capacity of the piece, and remains completely hidden when placed against a wall. This dresser has been lovingly cared for for the past 30 years, but needs a new home as we downsize our family home.
