A beautiful antique blue-and-white transferware souvenir plate featuring iconic landmarks of St. Louis, Missouri. Produced by the renowned Rowland & Marcellus Co. of Staffordshire, England, this decorative plate was specially commissioned and imported by Barr's Department Store of St. Louis, making it a wonderful piece of regional history and early twentieth-century souvenir ware.
The center of the plate showcases an impressive view of St. Louis City Hall, surrounded by detailed vignettes of notable city landmarks including the Old Courthouse, Eads Bridge, Union Station, Forest Park Pavilion, and additional historic scenes. Executed in rich cobalt blue transferware, the intricate architectural details and scenic imagery exemplify the craftsmanship for which Staffordshire potteries are celebrated.
This plate is an excellent addition to collections of transferware, Staffordshire ceramics, St. Louis memorabilia, World's Fair-era collectibles, or American historical souvenirs. It displays beautifully on a wall, in a cabinet, or as part of a blue-and-white pottery collection.

The plate exhibits typical glaze crazing consistent with its age, along with a visible hairline crack. The crack is stable and does not significantly detract from the plate's visual appeal, as the beautiful blue transferware imagery remains vibrant and displays exceptionally well. A charming and highly decorative piece that retains its historical character and collectible appeal despite this age-related imperfection. less
