Highly decorative, its embossed metal surface recalls the art of chasing, with a richly textured pattern animated by ridges and tiny perforations. After a careful cleaning with a specific product, the surface reveals a strong, refined chiaroscuro effect reminiscent of an 18th-century lithograph. The red velvet insert inside suggests that it was likely designed as a jewelry box — though, of course, you’re free to use it to hold whatever you wish, whether or not it’s objectively precious, but meaningful to you.
