This elegant piece reflects the fascination with Asian-inspired design that swept through Europe during the second half of the 19th century. The faux bamboo decoration gives the washstand a light and decorative appearance whilst retaining the solidity and practicality of traditional French furniture.

The washstand features its original white variegated marble top that sits above one full-width drawer with turned wooden pulls. Originally intended for use in a bedroom or dressing room, it now makes a versatile piece suitable as a bedside cabinet, bathroom stand, hallway table or decorative accent furniture.

A swivel mirror retains its original rippled effect mirror plate.

The finely turned front legs lead down to a recessed lower shelf set above the fine bun feet that support the piece.
