Mid Century Modern 1st Generation Charles Eames shell chairs for Herman Miller, late 1950s-early 1960s.
The Shell Chair has become one of the most recognizable design icons of the 20th century.
These iconic chairs (side shells / scoops) designed by Charles Eames for Herman Miller and made of molded fiberglass shells and mounted on aluminum H-bases, these chairs introduced the use of rubber "shock mounts" adhered to the underside of the shell
Bloomsbury currently has about 80 of these original chairs in stock and in the following colors: Navy Blue, Cream/Parchment, Orange & Brown ....mounted on aluminum H-bases. The chairs are in very good vintage condition with small signs of wear, all the chairs have the various Eames and Herman Miller stamps to the underside.
