Very pretty and elegant Japanese 4-panel painted silk Byobu (folding screen) depicts a peaceful Landscape with Temple. Signed and sealed by artist. Watercolor and ink on silk over paper. Silk border. Painted gold wood frame with reticulated brass corners. Fabric over paper and two metal hangers on back. Two brass stretchers to keep the screen flat are included. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1950-1960s. Very Good to Good condition - minor age wear overall, not very noticeable water damage to the front of the 4th panel, water damage to the back of the 4th panel, strong joints, clean, sturdy.
