Lovely Japanese painted 4-panel Silk Byobu (folding screen) depicts a graceful scene with Two Pheasants and Blossoming Cherry Tree (Sakura), and flowers. Signed and sealed by artist. Gouache, watercolor and ink on silk over paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame. Paper on back. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1970-1980s. Excellent condition - no damage to the painting nor back, minimal age wear overall, some age wear to the lacquered frame, strong joints, clean, sturdy. This screen most likely had one owner in the past.
