Etched into the molding is a scrolled, floral motif like iris that is interrupted by a few cracks and areas of wear which give authentic patina to the design. The wide frame has tactile interest and dimension within the gold by the red bole substrate peeking through. Adding intrigue to the original mirror glass is a haze of foxing, spotted with a random scattering of dark oxidation that draws the viewer in for a closer look. Relatively petite proportions allow this mirror to find a home in many different rooms and decorating styles. There appears to be some areas on the base that were previously "touched up" with gold paint. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
