Historically … Read more A rare and highly collectable antique bronze betel nut lime container featuring intricate chased decoration and a removable lid. Historically used to store slaked lime. This object was used traditionally in Southeast Asia, particularly in Cambodia (Khmer culture) and Laos. These vessels often have a distinct waisted shape and bands of etched patterns. They are rare, collectible items, frequently displaying patinas or residues from their traditional use. This piece would also make the perfect match holder (see photos). It is a piece that has amazing patina and character.

It is a well formed urn shape with incised designs, top of lid had a small loop at some point, corresponding side loop still in tact, interior with white lime accumulation. Minor losses, signs of wear, overall fine condition. See less
