An exceptional mid-century Murano art glass cylinder vase attributed to the historic furnace of Fratelli Toso, circa 1960.
Standing an impressive 13.75 inches tall, this heavy, thick-walled statement piece beautifully showcases the mastery of the "Fenicio" (Phoenician) pulled-feather technique. Brilliant, fiery ribbons of crimson red and radiant orange, meticulously combed into an upward-surging flame pattern, suspended within a deep aubergine-to-black cased glass matrix.
The elongated cylindrical form gently tapers down to a solid base, finished with a flawlessly hand-ground and polished flat pontil, a hallmark of premier mid-century Venetian studio glass craftsmanship.
