Model: FN 21 Famos
This pair of armchairs is an absolute jewel of interwar design and a masterpiece of the Bauhaus and functionalist style from the 1930s. This is the legendary Fn 21 Famos model, designed by the famous architect and pioneer of tubular furniture, Anton Lorenz. The armchairs were manufactured in Czechoslovakia by the renowned Mücke - Melder company, which ranked at the absolute top of European producers of bent steel furniture. This model perfectly blends the geometric purity of the modern avant-garde with uncompromising comfort.
As part of a comprehensive professional restoration, the armchairs have been brought to a state of ultimate luxury. The original cantilever tubular frame made of chrome-plated steel was meticulously cleaned and polished to a brilliant mirror finish, giving the chairs their signature dynamic flair and weightlessness. The seating has been newly upholstered in high-quality genuine Italian leather in an elegant ivory color. The luxurious look is accentuated by a contrasting black piping, which perfectly traces the purist lines of the entire design.
An extraordinary highlight is found in the curved armrests made of solid beech wood. These have been newly finished in black piano lacquer and subsequently polished to a luxurious high-gloss. The contrast of soft ivory leather, deep black armrests, and mirror chrome creates an absolutely stunning visual harmony. This fully restored pair of armchairs represents a highly valuable collector's and investment statement piece that will stand out in any representative salon, modern villa, or sophisticated study.
It has been reupholstered by our professional refurbishing team in Czechia.
