Whimsical chandelier is crafted in painted toleware and decorated with patriotic red, white, and blue swags accented by gilt rosettes. Inspired by the 18th-century aeronautical themes and French neoclassical ornament, this fixture captures the romance of early balloon flight while showcasing the sophisticated decorative vision for which Maison Jensen became internationally renowned. The spherical balloon canopy is adorned with hand-painted draped swags and floral rosettes, while intricate twisted metal elements simulate the ropes and rigging of an actual hot air balloon. Suspended beneath, a stylized basket-form base supports four candelabra sockets arranged among scrolled iron arms. The original metal framework is stamped "Made in Italy", reflecting the collaboration between skilled Italian artisans and the celebrated Paris decorating house.
