19th century tortoise bamboo side table with chinoiserie decoration from France.
This table is fabulous! It has a bamboo molded edge around the top, surrounding the hand painted chinoiserie bordered panel, which depicts birds and florals and a sponged border.
The top follows down to wonderfully artistic aprons on all four sides of bamboo pieces in graduating size, supported on a curved bamboo stretcher, ending in a root, which is aesthetically gorgeous.
The table is supported on splayed legs, joined by cross stretchers. There is a small shelf on top of the stretchers, also decorated in chinoiserie.
This table is one of the nicest models we have had the pleasure to offer.
