A louis xvi style flat desk in solid mahogany.
height under the frieze: 61 cm
the rectangular top is encircled by a brass gallery and upholstered in bottle-green leather with a gilt-stamped border. According to the seller, it is in very good condition. The front panel features three drawers with chased bronze handles and keyhole escutcheons; gilt bronze rosettes adorn the corners. The four tapered, slightly fluted legs are fitted with solid brass capitals and sabots. The drawers are assembled with hand-carved dovetail joints on an oak frame, characteristic of high-quality craftsmanship. The leather shows patinated wear, and the bronze mounts exhibit natural oxidation. The overall condition is consistent with the piece's age; cleaning and restoration of the bronze mounts should be considered. Dimensions: h. 78 cm – w. 145 cm. Estimated weight: 50 kg.
