Crafted during the golden age of American scientific instrument making, this microscope features a lacquered brass body mounted on a black japanned horseshoe base. Retained are the original rotating nosepiece, three objective lenses, condenser assembly, mirror, and an original Bausch & Lomb eyepiece.

The instrument possesses the beautiful patina and honest wear expected from a working laboratory microscope over a century old while remaining highly decorative and visually striking.

Today, examples of this quality are sought after by collectors of scientific instruments, medical antiques, industrial design, and cabinet-of-curiosities décor.

Condition:
