Each horse is rendered with exceptional anatomical detail, manes flowing and legs mid-stride, creating a sense of perpetual movement as the eye circles the piece. The deep dark patina with warm bronze undertones gives the work age and gravitas.

The piece is unsigned, and while it cannot be definitively attributed to Moreau himself, the casting quality, subject matter, and stylistic treatment are entirely consistent with the Art Nouveau equestrian bronze tradition he defined. Pieces of this quality and subject regularly surface in auction and gallery settings attributed to the Moreau school.
