Made of fine faience, a lead-glazed white earthenware, made by Crail et Montreau
Emulating the creamware perfected by J. Wedgwood in the 1770s, the fine faience of Creil et Montreau introduced the industrial technique of transfer printing on pottery in France and raised it to a high state of perfection during the peak years in the 19th century
