An early pearlware tea cup and saucer set
Hand tinted polychrome over transfer decoration depicting a Colonial scene - unusual and rare subject!
Both, the saucer and the cup display the same scenery with local people at tropical sea shore. There are palm trees and flowers. A ship is sailing in the background
The handle is also decorated with floral motif
Circa 1820-30's, English, most likely Staffordshire
Measurements: Approx. the cup: 4.1" across with handle x 3.6" diameter x 2.4" tall; the plate: 5.7" diameter x 1.2" deep
Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. All original. Slightest of wear on the paint, commensurate with age. No other issues
