David Stearns (1935-1920) "Live Lobsters" color woodblock print on thin paper. Pencil signed, dated 1958, titled and numbered 13 of 17.
Stearns began making woodblocks in the 1950s, before becoming a prominent weaver and fiber artist using waxed linen threads, reeds, cane, bamboo, and beads create vessels and tapestries. He was also a well known gardener.
In 2022 Stearns was honored posthumously at Artistree Community Gallery in Vermont with the exhibition "Inspired by Nature: David Stearns Retrospective."
