Vintage Pair of H. Mária Ráhmer Ceramic Sculptures of Terrier Dogs. So very charming.
They are signed/stamped H. Rahmer & one is marked "Hungary" I have seen this artist be referred to as H. Rahmer, as these dogs are marked, and as Maria H. Rahmer & H. Rahmer Maria. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1911, she studied ceramics in the 1920's and ventured out on her own in the 1930's, eventually making her way to Paris & finally to Canada where she died in 1998.
In addition, one of the dogs has a tag marked "Ovington's New York" ~ a high end home goods store started in Brooklyn in the late 1800's and continued to operate until the 1950's.
Please note condition in photos and "Condition Details" section of this listing. There is some damage to the terrier with the red collar, noted & photographed, but I couldn't separate the two siblings!
