This artwork, titled "Raspoutine, Costume d'Hiver," is an original gouache on Canson Montgolfier paper by Russian/French artist Erte, Romain De Tirtoff, 1892-1990. It is hand signed in black ink by the artist at the lower center of the sheet. The sheet size is 14.65 x 10.5 inches.
The subject is a costume created by the artist for the Parisian Cabaret Raspoutine. This artwork comes from the personal collection of "The Empress Of The Night," Mrs. Helene Martini, owner and director of several Parisian cabarets that included Les Folies Bergeres and Raspoutine, for whom the artist designed costumes and decors for more than 40 years. It is beautifully framed in wooden custom gold frame with multi-level gold color bevel and fabric matting.
