The elephants are carved with beautifully figured wood with varying shades of brown and black and have inlaid bone eyes and tusks. There is a slight irregularity to one of the upright books, as pictured, but this doesn't affect the overall presentation of the bookends. Probably dating from the early 20th century and of Indian origin. An impressive pair. See less
