The plate was … Read more This artwork titled "Le Philosophe en Contemplation" 1754 is an engraving after Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn 1606-1669. The plate was engraved by Pierre Louis De Surugue, 1710-1772. The Image (plate mark) is 8.25 x 10.15 inches, Sheet size is 10 x 11 inches. Two copies of this artwork are held at the British Museum in London, and at the De Young, Legion of Honor Museum, in San Francisco. It is in good condition, trimmed to the plate mark, the paper is toned by age, two light vertical creases mostly visible on the back. See less
