A handsome William IV style mahogany library table of impressive scale and quality, dating to the early twentieth century The … Read more A handsome William IV style mahogany library table of impressive scale and quality, dating to the early twentieth century The rectangular top is beautifully figured and finished with a reeded moulded edge above an elaborately carved scrolling frieze Raised on a pair of substantial pedestal supports adorned with acanthus leaf carving and standing on elegant platform bases terminating in scroll feet, the table displays the bold architectural character associated with the William IV period Circa 1840 Finished on all sides, this versatile table can be used as a centre table, library table or desk, making it ideal for placement in the middle of a room Richly coloured mahogany veneers and finely executed carving combine to create a piece of considerable decorative impact, equally suited to a traditional study, library or country house interior.
