Collector's item! rare, experimental porcelain vase in a space-age design from the gdr, circa the 1960s–1970s, which was likely never mass-produced. Height 16 cm, diameter 17 cm, in excellent condition. Porcelain mark on the base: wtk logo and "form"

1954–1958 studied at the berlin-weißensee academy of fine and applied arts (berlin academy of arts), majoring in ceramics, instructors r. Kaiser, w. Henze; graduated with a degree in industrial design
1958–1960 design engineer at veb porzellanwerk lichte (thuringia)
1960–1979 artistic staff member at ve wtk (scientific-technical ceramics enterprise) meissen, department of porcelain production design, as a form and decoration designer
since 1980: freelance work in her own studio in meissen until the late 1990s
since 1966: member of the association of visual artists of the gdr
since 1991: member of the saxon artists’ association
since 1991: member of “kunst und form” e.v.

manufacturer:
“scientific-technical ceramics enterprise (wtk) meissen” served as the research and development center for the fine ceramics industry of the gdr. The center was subordinate to the vvb keramik erfurt (vvb = association of state-owned enterprises).
in 1964, factory-scale porcelain production was discontinued. This department was then used as a pilot plant for small-scale testing of the materials, forms, and decors now being developed at the wtz. A key focus was product development.
