All four pieces (bed frame, lowboy dresser, matching nightstands) were built and purchased in 1965 (the MCM period) directly from the furniture maker, Davis Cabinet Co. (Nashville, TN)– a premium American furniture manufacturer renowned for museum-quality furniture construction and traditional design. Made of mahogany, with exterior dimensions of 63” W x 87”L x 75”H, the available mattress size is 60”W x 82”L (hence the “head 5/0” sprayed onto back of headboard, meaning five feet across, or sixty inches). The manufacturer’s model is 1418.

A high quality, queen-size bed frame with hand-carved turned posts (mimicking early American and Colonial Revival styles), each wooden post screws off for ease of transport and set up in the home. A solid mahogany frame and the finest mahogany veneered headboard panel combine together to create a beautiful and commanding bed. Solid metal hooks keep the bed frame secure to the headboard and foot board. CROSS BEAM SLATS NOT INCLUDED.

In excellent structural and cosmetic condition, made of solid mahogany construction, with all original hardware, the 1960s traditional bedroom set is being offered by the original owner. A collectible with an unbroken chain of provenance, these high quality period pieces resided in the same home for six decades and are in good-to-excellent condition. Considered “Vintage Perfect,” you’ll find nothing but normal, age-appropriate wear (minor dings consistent with six decades of use).

Retained in a single, climate-controlled home for six decades, this vintage American furniture was finely crafted in traditional style during the mid-century modern era – all four pieces contain original hardware and maker’s marks. No odors. No missing pieces, no cracks, wobbly joints, or missing finials. Structurally sound throughout. No restoration will be required.

Again, this 1960s vintage furniture, manufactured in 1965 has had a single owner since new – meaning sixty years in the same home. Includes headboard, foot board, side rails, four turned posts, and (3) center support slats. No cracks, serious scratches, wobbly joints or missing finials! The bed cross rails are laid in frame, but could be removed if desired. See less
