A large handsome Italian hand crafted and glazed Majolica Rooster Tureen or Cookie Jar with original "Made in Italy" tag on the inside of the lid. Circa 1970s. This 19.5" long sitting Rooster features vibrant colors of gold, brown, deep blues and greens on the plumes with a pinkish red comb and wattles. The removable lid sits on the rooster's back. A sturdy and heavy ceramic piece that would look fabulous in a country or farmhouse kitchen.
Weight is 8 lbs. 7.9 oz.
