Presenting a RARE magnificent example of mid-century Venetian master craftsmanship: a monumental, asymmetric "Horn of Plenty" trumpet vase imported by the prestigious Jordan Importing Company (JICO) during the late 1960s to 1970s. This heavy-gauge, hand-blown sculpture perfectly embodies the bold, maximalist ethos of Hollywood Regency and mid-century Italian design.
The body features tightly wound, vibrant ribbon trails of emerald green, bright canary yellow, white, and deep plum/amethyst glass. In a stunning display of technical skill, the furnace master adorned the piece with elaborate, applied crystal elements:
Two flying-buttress side handles executed in the classic Venetian a costae (ribbed) technique to maximize light refraction.
An applied stylized snail-shell coil motif anchored dynamically near the base.
A ribbed, sea-shell finial fused directly onto the heavy, solid-crystal foot.
It is a true standalone structural sculpture that commands attention from every angle.
Excellent vintage condition. The glass retains its original, brilliant high-gloss finish with no internal cloudiness or mineral deposits. Remarkably for a piece with such complex, protruding elements, there are no chips, cracks, or fleabites to the delicate applied crystal handles or shell curlicues. Minimal, expected shelf wear to the underside of the base.
The underside features a prominent, authentic, rough-snapped pontil scar—a definitive hallmark of its artisanal, hand-blown Murano origins.
Height: 10 inches
Width: 8 inches
Weight: 3.6 lbs (Heavy-gauge, substantial crystal).
