“A mid-century Continental hand-painted folding screen in the Louis XVI manner, each of its four panels rendered in trompe l’oeil to mimic carved architectural paneling — in the tradition of Renzo Mongiardino’s celebrated painted interiors. Neoclassical motifs — laurel wreaths, olive branches, and flaming torches — are hand painted within each panel, framed by a softly crackled ground showing genuine age. Fitted with new brass hardware for smooth, reliable folding. Wear is consistent with age and use. A striking room divider or headboard-height backdrop, equally at home in a traditional room or layered into a maximalist scheme.
