Add some opulence to any room with this splendid set of 4 beautifully carved antique American ballon-back rosewood chairs. These fine chairs date from the 1860s and are attributed to John Henry Belter with their elegant sinuous lines, cabriole legs and ornate top crest carvings.
One chair has a solid repair to the crest as shown and another has a stable crack to the back rail that does not detract from its form or beauty. Otherwise, these period pieces have their original surface finish with a beautiful intact patina and retain their period caster wheels. They are solid, stable and are in very good antique condition with normal wear from age and use. The upholstery is clean and free from any tears or wear. A fine example of superior quality Victorian craftsmanship and design at the time.
