The entire frame is sculpted from solid beech wood, which responds beautifully to steam-bending, producing a flexible yet incredibly durable framework. The circular ring positioned beneath the seat distributes user weight evenly and stabilizes the elegantly splayed legs.

While original 19th-century models were built directly by Thonet in Austria, this specific variant remained highly popular through the mid-20th century. Between the 1950s and 1970s, manufacturing expanded under official licenses and successor factories throughout Eastern Europe.
