Measuring only 22 1/2 inches wide by 23 inches high, this compact piece was originally made as a cabinet maker’s sample, allowing clients to order a larger customized chest in the same form. The chest features three drawers and is raised on curved carved cabriolet feet, while a decorative carved and scalloped skirt adds further charm and detail. Its small scale makes it especially appealing for use as a jewelry cabinet with potential to line the drawers, or accent piece. Typical age related separation is seen along the top and elsewhere, all consistent with the age of the piece. Restored strong, stable, and ready for use. Cracks, scratches, stains are reflective of years of use.
