VESSEL - MANANTIAL
stoneware with glaze
A handbuilt vessel in black clay with an iron oxide wash worked across the surface by hand. The wash settles into the texture of the clay and burns dark in the kiln, leaving a surface that reads like ancient bronze or weathered stone. The form is stacked and totemic — a cylindrical base rising into a swelling belly, narrowing at the waist, flaring again at the neck, with a pinched spout that gives it direction and intention.
