The broad border depicts hand colored hunting scenes of wild boar, squirrel, deer, eagle and dogs amongst elaborately decorated oak branches. In between the segments are the initials of Louis-Philippe and armorials. They all bare the light blue 1846 Sèvres stamp, the deep orange Chateau de Fontainebleau stamp and the black S46 stamp.
