The original rush seat grounds the ornament with texture. This is the kind of chair that anchors a room.

General age wear throughout, including paint loss and gilt wear consistent with its age and origin. One chipped gilt finial on a lower side rail, shown in photos. Rush seat has softened slightly at center but is fully intact and structurally sound.
