Item: Late 1990s Palladian-style Storage Box.
Maker: Authentic Models (AM), Global headquarters and design studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Period: 1990s to early 2000s. Discontinued.
Style: Neoclassical, reminiscent of Villa La Rotonda (Villa Almerico Capra Valmarana), Vicenza VI, Italy.
Materials: Aged wood, finished with a protective lacquer.
Scale: approximate 1:100 to 1:150 based on standard classical proportions.
Description: Offered is an artisan hand-crafted highly collectible, vintage-inspired wooden valet or keepsake box. The design was produced to mimic an 18th century British jewelry casket, in the style of Palladian architecture. Features: Removable roof, secret hidden drawer compartment, antique white outer and oxblood interior lacquer finish, two antique brass finish carrying handles, oval plaque inside lid embossed "PER MARE PER TERRAM - AM - Est. 1968 - BY LAND & BY SEA", verso with felt pads and sub-label stamped "Made in China" alongside the brand's signature Dutch trademark "AM".
Measures: 16 W x 11.25 D x 13 H inches.
Approximate weight: 12 pounds, 5.7 ounce.
Provenance: Ex. Diana and Marc Goldstein (1935-2015), SOM Design and Consulting Partner (1970-1991), responsible for some of SOM's most important architectural and urban planning accomplishments of the 20th century. Unmarked.
Note: The motto of the AM logo "Per Mare Per Terram" has been the official motto of the Royal Marines since 1775.

Facsimile reproduction of the 1570 edition, published by Ulrico Hoepli; includes an attached "Note on Palladio" by Ottavio Cabiati (a 14-page stapled booklet illustrated with six black-and-white plates). The main volume, foxed upper leaf edge, is a hardcover edition with a dust jacket, age-toned and chipped at extremities, measuring 21x30 cm, illustrated with black-and-white plates. Near fine in a good dust jacket.
