The … Read more This exceptional children's highchair in classic Thonet style is a rare piece of pop culture history from the 1920s. The absolute highlight is the rounded backrest, featuring a historic wood embossing of the world-famous cartoon character Felix the Cat. Felix was created in 1919 and was the undisputed star of the silent film era, placing this piece of furniture within the Art Deco period and the Roaring Twenties. Children's furniture with early, embossed comic motifs is extremely rare on the market today.

The chair was crafted using traditional bentwood techniques from steam-bent beechwood. The organic design and solid craftsmanship are characteristic of renowned manufacturers such as Thonet, Fischel, and Kohn.

This sturdy highchair, with minor signs of age-related wear, is in beautiful condition. It has been professionally cleaned and lightly polished. Original screws are retained. See less
