Our Folk Art Weavers Distaff is richly carved and painted. Special attention to colors details and folk traditions. These are an important element of the Slavic culture and Eastern European folk art. A tool used by a weaver to hold the fibers not yet spun, keeping them untangled and thus easing the spinning process. Highly decorated and an elaborate possession. When the distaff was not in use, it was displayed as an ornament unto itself for the home.
