Late 19th Century Carved Oak Box with Foliate Decoration, English 1880. Handcrafted from solid oak, this box is intricately hand carved to the finest detail with foliate leaf detailing and acanthus scrollwork throughout. Top of lid displays a high relief geometric shape and floral motif that opens to a large drop interior originally used to house letters and documents, jewelry and other various items. In good condition with signs consistent with age and use.
