Rare majolica platter arums, frogs, shells signed Christine Viennet circa 2000.
Christine Viennet studied at the Oslo school of art, then apprenticed for two Norwegian artists, Rolf Hansen and Bente von Krogh. Between 1965 and 1971, she worked with Father Paoli at the Abbey of Saint Michel de Cuxa and at ateliers of Lurçat and Picart Le Doux, in Perignan, France. Viennet works in the tradition of Bernard Palissy, renaissance ceramist, who created colorful trompe l’oeil objects. Viennet is inspired by nature and beginning in 2008, she began to explore oceanic motifs.
